Thanks to the 34 mm medium profile, the Racing 4 DB wheels achieve the perfect balance of aerodynamics, precision and versatility. They are ideal for long climbs without losing stability on fast descents. That’s why Team Cofidis chose these wheels for their training set-up.
Unlike the 2018 model, the aluminium profile of this new version is CNC-machined, making it lighter, and the internal dimension has been increased to 19 mm (the previous model had an internal dimension of 17 mm) so that 25mm tyres can now be fitted without any problems. The wheels also offer 2-Way Fit technology for clincher tyres and tubeless tyres (tubeless tape is factory-fitted and valves are included). To match the look of the new Racing 4 DB, there are impressive laser-etched graphics that can withstand any weather.
ANTI-ROTATION SYSTEM
This new system takes the concept of the lacing system to a new level of performance. Fulcrum’s technicians have redesigned the spokes and the hub shells to create a solid and solid unit. In this way, the spokes
a) they never lose their initial tension, keeping the wheel perfectly responsive and centred, and
b) that they remain in the position developed in the wind tunnel to ensure the best possible aerodynamics.
F.I.C. FULCRUM IDENTIFICATION CARD – 100% HANDMADE QUALITY
Fulcrum, since its creation, has been characterised by an approach that continues to this day: Design, prototyping and industrialisation of all wheels with the red “F”. Every single wheel component, the materials selected and the technologies used are the tangible result of the efforts Fulcrum makes every day to offer you the highest performance and reliability.
AFS AXLE SYSTEM
The Axial Fixing System is the solution developed by Fulcrum to fix the disc brake to the hub. The constraint granted by the butt area of the release mechanism, greater than in familiar standard ones, makes it possible to obtain greater structural rigidity and therefore more precise and powerful braking.
SQUARE MILLING
For the aluminium rim of the new Racing Zero, they decided to leave the triple post-milling structure on the entire profile to minimise the thickness of the aluminium. Finally, the engineers have added 3D milling finishing on the spoke base: This means less material and the same reliability, as with this special design the forces on the rim are well distributed. Triple milling finishing and “square milling” allow the greatest reduction of the rim’s circumferential weight to make the wheel extremely acceleration-friendly.
